  • Start Wild Bergamot seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before your last frost date. Cold stratification can improve germination: place seeds in a moist paper towel inside a plastic bag or container, then refrigerate for 3-4 weeks before sowing. (Stratification is not necessary for outdoor direct-seeding.)

Press seeds lightly into the soil surface without covering, as they need light to germinate. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination, which usually occurs in 5-7 days. After the last frost, transplant seedlings to a sunny outdoor location, spacing plants 18-24 inches (45-60 cm) apart to ensure ample room for growth and air circulation.
