  • For earlier blooms, start honeywort seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. Seeds can also be direct-sown outdoors after the risk of frost has passed.

Scarify seeds by gently rubbing them with sandpaper or soaking them in water for 12-24 hours to improve germination. Sow seeds 1/4 inch (5 mm) deep and keep the soil consistently moist until germination, which typically occurs in 10-14 days.

After your last frost date, transplant seedlings into a sunny location with well-draining soil, spacing plants 12-18 inches (30-45 cm) apart. Honeywort is drought-tolerant once established and thrives with minimal care. Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous blooming throughout the season.
